In Fall 2021, we’ll be launching a new program integrating yoga, meditation, and powerful techniques for inner transformation and accomplishment

Embodied Wisdom – Creative Coaching will be a special opportunity to work with Virginia privately and in small group sessions for application of the deeper aspects of yoga, geared towards inner liberation and radiant living.

NOTE:  Existing Yoga Mentoring students will be grand-fathered in and can still purchase their maintenance packages below.  New students will not be accepted, unless a present student must withdraw.

Yoga exceeds exercise.  We start with stretches, as well as breathing techniques to manage stress and lessen emotional grip.

Through AHA Yoga, you gain access to traditional practices, leading you to innate stillness and empowerment. 

 

Traditional yoga is about accessing your inner resilience, clarity, and gifts. 

It refines the mind, via the body and breath as gateway, so you drop into stability, ease, and effortless effort. 

You move inward to access stillness.

I am Virginia Hill and I have dedicated myself to teaching yoga because I know firsthand IT WORKS. It has helped me personally with a depth indescribable through mere words; it can only be known through experience.  I also have seen transformation in the attitudes, bodies, and daily lives of my private clients.  To this end, the number of private mentoring students is intentionally limited (no more than four), so each yoga student receives the planning, attentiveness, and presence that individually tailored, successful mentoring requires. 

 

What is private Yoga Mentoring?

Well, essentially it’s you, me, and the rich practice of Yoga—truly!  It is a richer practice than many of us have imagined, and 1:1 mentoring helps open those possibilities through dedicated practice that is tailored just for you.

Working with me privately means you get a compassionate teacher all to yourself, so we can take our time — it’s all about your time!—and develop your practice where you want it to go.

 

Nervous?  I totally understand and have been there.  Did you know that you do not have to be flexible to do yoga, and even non-athletic types can have a beautiful practice?  That is also why I am a good mentor and committed to private yoga mentoring; with 18+ years of my own yoga practice and over 18 years in various teaching capacities, I have been both the scared student whose progress shocks and overjoys herself and the amazed teacher who gets to witness incredible student growth.

Private yoga sessions are great way to cultivate a committed practice for your specific life goals, and that is what it takes to experience the best possibilities of yoga:  DAILY, individualized practice.

Most of us have been introduced to yoga through videos or group classes, which are a great doorway to what yoga has to offer.  But did you know that, traditionally, yoga was an intimate practice shared between teacher and student?  It is this focused attention to our greatest vulnerabilities in a safe space with someone who has experienced the fruit of such efforts that helps you create and maintain daily practice that takes root and thus provide deeper, long-term, and lasting benefits.

Private Yoga Mentoring is incredible for overcoming difficult life events or physical injuries, fitting into your hectic schedule, and supporting the healing you are doing with other practitioners such as massage and physical therapists, personal trainers, acupuncturists, and chiropractors.

 

But, remember, Private Yoga Mentoring is dedicated to your integrative personal development.  You’ll work the body, yes.  But you’ll also work your mindset.  That, too, is simply a start.  You’ll also work the breath.  While initially this heals the body, and then rejuvenates the mind, it leads to more subtle awareness.  Your personalized practice also addresses embodiment–your power to be and live within your own seat of power.  Immersive, ardent practice of traditional yoga addresses obstacles so that you may directly experience the subtle and innate clarity and capacity, the igniting power beyond the daily body-mind complex.

 

If you already attend group yoga classes but want to enhance your process and all the inspiring results that come along with it, private yoga mentoring is a fruitful approach.  Physical practices are the beginning points of yoga that lead you to more subtler and infinitely vaster potentials.  The explorations of the philosophy and worldview behind the “why” of yoga help you walk through that gateway.  You’ll not only understand but directly experience how the simple practices of yoga–thorns to remove thorns!–simply remove the clutter to remind you of who you are and how to be.

 

Private sessions give you an opportunity to focus on this “more” that yoga provides.  Mentoring can quicken your progress; This is true even for meditation, where it is especially difficult for a teacher to know the details of your inner experience. Because you get individualized attention, I can observe your alignment and have pointed discussions with you, while you also get to ask any question you’d like; this type of mentorship saves you time  months or even years – by suggesting how to modify your practice so you get the best benefits for your specific needs.

 

Here is what working with me privately would look like:

  • As soon as you register we touch base on the phone and find a time that works really well for us, in the intimacy and security and peaceful beauty of the AHA Yoga studio space at 305 East Duval in Lake City, Florida, OR for added convenience and calm, you can do them from the comfort of your own home via the on-line ZOOM platform.  This is marvelous option, since you’ll also get the recording to use at your leisure.  Repetition of these luscious practices and reminders of all you’ve learned are the lovely key the supportive, transformative practice yoga provides!
  • You provide your own favorite yoga mat & your preferred props, such as eye pillows, blocks, wedges, straps, bolsters, and eye pillows (especially wonderful for deep relaxation!).  If you do not have have these specialty props, some are available for sale at the studio, or they can be set aside just for you for the duration of your mentoring;
  • You receive via e-mail a very detailed questionnaire that addresses five different levels that correspond to a yogic approach to realizing your best self and you will reflect upon your needs, concerns, experience, and daily habits and heartfelt goals;
  • Taking our conversations and your completed questionnaire into account, I devise a personalized practice to begin your journey;
  • Then we meet and have your first session, which will go for 90 minutes, giving us oodles of time to talk about what it is you are looking for from your sessions, how I can support you fully, and what you desire by the time we finish working together. We’ll also go through some fun quizzes and questions to get you focused on YOU and your self-care (my favorite part).  Yoga, after all, is about learning our true inner nature, and enhancing the best parts of our self.
  • Then we’ll have a gorgeous hour of Yoga, where I tailor everything to suit what it is you desire. Whether that’s strong sweaty flow or deeply nourishing restorative: it’s your call and I’ll be there for you completely.
  • In between your first and second session, I’ll email you a list of the poses we did and other practices that will help positive change take root (like breathing, journaling, and other techniques), as well as a few suggested steps and readings toward your overall action plan so you can start working on these throughout your week.
  • Then we’ll meet on two additional occasions for two more hour-long YOU-ga sessions, again focusing on what your body, heart, and mind need on that day.

FIND YOUR FIRE:  Yoga Mentoring for Confidence

If you want to up-level your yoga and meditation practice, Yoga Mentoring is a superb opportunity to get support to reach your goals.  If you’re emerging from a major life transition and feel a little empty, unsure, or have lost your bearings about what to do next–or perhaps you’re feeling zapped and uncertain about your own sense of power–and desire clarity and energy,  then this Yoga Mentoring approach is for you.  Through these techniques, you can connect to your own inner resources and nurture and therefore expand the best parts of yourself.  The intention of this package is to help you find your footing and stand firm, where not do not simply heal but also thrive.  Come take a stand for your own growth, and see where it takes you.

We’ll use yoga postures to strengthen your body and increase energy, but also add specific poses (especially abdominal work), breathing, bandhas or “locks” (think:  tight holding & squeezing exercises), mudras (meditations with hand poses), and affirmations or mantras that are designed to awaken confidence, inner vitality, and self-empowerment. We’ll also touch base to explore what often unspoken core beliefs you hold about yourself, and slowly apply yogic approaches to teach your body-mind to be open to other, more open and nourishing potentials.  Over time, such approaches help you awaken to your own inner wisdom, knowing, and certainty that are there all along; the debris from painful events, wrong-headed mental chatter, and corresponding postural habits just need to be cleared away.  All of these yoga techniques are catered to your specific situation, body, energy levels, and desires.  The answers are not outside of you, they are within, so invest in yourself.
